Eggs and Ice Cream

After a week of rain and dark cold clouds, the sun finally returned this weekend and we couldn't wait to get outside and soak it up. But of course, before you spend all day running around and playing in the sun, you need a hearty breakfast. And one thing our little girl never turns is eggs or "eggies" as she says. As soon as we even mention the word, she gets a huge smile on her face. On Saturday morning, she decided she wanted to help Daddy cook the perfect eggies. First, you have to crack the eggs in a bowl... (p.s.-notice who else is laying on the floor waiting? Dakota also loves eggies also!) Next, we whisk them up. Then we put everything back in the fridge while we wait for them to cook! I think she seriously ate about 2 eggs! Like I said, she loves eggies.
After a yummy breakfast, we headed outside to play with our best buddies. First, a wagon ride around the neighborhood and then we walked up to the park.

On Sunday, it was even warmer which meant more time outside. We went and had an early dinner at our favorite pizza spot, Hawthorne's. Then, we walked around the neighborhood soaking in that late afternoon warm sunshine.
And how do you top off the perfect spring weekend, with ice cream! Ella is kind of funny, at first, she really didn't like sweets too much, only her 3 m&m's after dinner. But lately, she is developing quite a sweet tooth. Her favorites are jelly beans "gel bean gel bean", still loves her m&ms and also loves cake but hasn't really liked ice cream but that all changed yesterday. When she saw Addie and Wesley with theirs and they had sprinkles, she wanted her own of course. So, she had some of her own "isceem" with sprinkles. She only had about 4 bites but she loved every minute of it. I think this summer will be a lot more fun if we can make lots of trips to get ice cream.
Today was 87 degrees and we were loving every minute of it. I think we spent about 95% of the day, when we weren't napping or sleeping, playing outside. The best part of warm weather is getting to break out the summer clothes. I love dresses, skirts and little bubbles so much more than big bulky sweaters and fleece pants.
Addie and Ella taking a break from the sun inside the playhouse with their snack, string cheese and pretzels (which Ella calls crackers).

Tomorrow, they are calling for more rain and the highs only in the high 50's, burrr so I guess we will have to spend a couple more days in pants until Mother Nature decides that spring is here to stay.
